Welcome to Canal Farm Cottages
|
 Our
self catering accommodations in Lincolnshire consist of three
charming 4 star cottages with one cottage assessed suitable for
guests with limited mobility. Our cottages and lake are situated in a peaceful location
on the banks of the Louth Navigational Canal and set in the hamlet of rural Austen Fen.
Near to coastal nature reserves, the sea, sandy beaches,
mudflats and saltmarshes, our self catering cottages are the ideal
getaway for birdwatchers, walkers, ramblers and of course sea
anglers and coarse fishermen. Plus with trout fishing available in
the area this also includes the game fisherman.
 Included with the
accommodation is exclusive free fishing
in our well stocked private lake for mirror carp, common carp,
crucian carp, bream, roach, rudd, barbel and tench.
We also have the fishing
rights to half a mile of fishing along the Louth Navigational Canal,
home to some good fish,
which borders our property.
Pets are welcome so no need to leave them with friends or book kennels, bring your pet with you
on a fishing holiday.

plenty of opportunities for lovely walks along the canal, on the
nearby secluded sandy beaches or marshlands or around our fishing lake. |

 Ticklepenny Cottage
Self catering accommodation sleeping 2 / 4
Ticklepenny Cottage, rated 4 star, is the smallest of our self
catering cottages. A single storey accommodation this holiday
let sleeps 2 to 4 persons and is ideally suited to guests with limited mobility.
The cottage consists of a well equipped galley kitchen with electric oven and
microwave and dining and lounge area with LCD / Digital television
with DVD player and a stylish, comfortable leather corner sofa.
The sleeping area of Ticklepenny Cottage is a large L shaped bedroom
with en-suite facilities (bath and shower available). There is a
double bed is in this area with the option of having two single beds
in the extra space for two more people. The two areas can be
separated by a curtain to give more privacy.
To the front of the Ticklepenny Cottage is a private courtyard with
secure parking area. A garden table, chairs and barb-b-que are
provided.

 Barn Owl Cottage
Self catering accommodation sleeping 4 / 5
Barn Owl Cottage, also a 4 star self catering accommodation, has
been sympathetically converted from a traditional Lincolnshire red
brick and pantile barn with many of the original features retained.
Situated on the bank of the Louth Navigation Canal, Barn Owl is the
largest of our cottages and can comfortably accommodate a family of
4 or 5. There is
ample secure free parking next to cottage.
The
holiday accommodation comprises of a well equipped galley kitchen,
with an electric oven, a microwave and a fridge with a 2 star ice
box. A spacious and comfortable open plan dining and lounge area and
a roomy ground floor bathroom with a bath and a shower.
A beautiful spiral staircase leads up to the double bedroom on the
mezzanine, with a separate portioned area on which a single bed can
be made up. Along the passage there is a large twin bedroom with a
view over the Lincolnshire Wolds.
A barb-b-que is provided for guests at Barn Owl and in front of the
cottage there is a private patio with garden table and chairs where
guests can sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet of the lovely
Lincolnshire countryside after a good days fishing on our lake.

Kingfisher Cottage our third 4 star holiday accommodation caters for
up to 4 people. Being a single storey cottage with double doors and
no steps up to the entrance, this cottage is perfect for guests with
limited mobility looking for self catering accommodation in
Lincolnshire.
The accommodation consists of a twin bedroom and a double bedroom.
The bathroom is spacious with both a bath and wet floor shower.
There is a well equipped kitchen with an electric oven, ceramic hob
and microwave and a dining area. The comfortable sitting room has a
television, video/DVD player and a digital TV receiver.
Kingfisher Cottage has it's own private parking space right next to
the cottage and benefits from an enclosed patio where you can relax
in the peaceful surroundings with views over open countryside to the
Lincolnshire Wolds..

Canal Farm Cottages offer anglers a mature
on site fishing lake with fishing hut and no day tickets. All fishing
is exclusive and free to our guests, and is only 200 metres from the
cottages.
Stocked with a variety of coarse fish including
common, mirror and crucian carp, bream, roach, rudd, barbel and
tench, there is fishing for everyone.
The Canal is subject to a closed season,
but can offer good Perch, Roach and Rudd

If you would like a change of venue there are
numerous day ticket waters around Louth and in the local area for both coarse fishing

only 30 minutes away and Bardney, Kirkstead and Tattershall are
noted as good fishing areas of the Witham for bream and roach. The
river Bain is noted for big chub.
Sea fishing for shore anglers can be found all along the
Lincolnshire coast and Charter boats out of Grimsby offer good sea
fishing. |
