Tad's Place
Captain Tad's Place is a two-bedroom vacation
rental, two-bath duplex located right on the water in the city of Key
Colony Beach in Marathon Key, Florida. Tad and Susan Grubbs are the
on-site owners and operators of this resort location and strive to make
sure the rental home is cleaner than any other in the city.
Marathon Vacation Rental Amenities
 Captain
Tad's is a full upstairs duplex with a wraparound balcony. The balcony is
an ideal site overlooking the water and boats parked at the dock below. A
full kitchen is provided with dishwasher and microwave. The living room is
a large 17'x 25' area and includes a TV with cable and VCR. There is also
a Wireless Internet Connection available for your Computer Access. The
master bedroom has a king-size SelectComfort© bed and a full bath. The
second bedroom has a king-size bed plus a twin bed, and an adjacent full
bath. All towels, linens and kitchen utensils are supplied.
Outside, there is boat dockage to 40 feet with a large fish-cleaning
station right at the dock. You also have the use of a large 6-foot by
10-foot walk-in freezer to store your bait and freeze your catch. On the
south side of the building there's a 600 pound ice machine and a new
washer and dryer for your convenience. Tad and Susan say, "We want your
stay to be the best ever. If there is anything we can do, just ask. We're
right here for you."
Key Colony Beach Vacation Resort Amenities
All of Captain Tad's guests have access to the
privileges offered at the Cabana Club of Key Colony. This is a private
club located at the end of the street, within easy walking distance. At
the Cabana Club there is a large swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a white sandy
beach overlooking the Atlantic Ocean for your enjoyment. Such a nice,
white sandy beach is a very desirable location for swimming and
snorkeling. The Cabana Club also has a bar and grill at the poolside for
refreshments. Enjoy!
You will find that the rates at Captain Tad's are very reasonable for such
a large and well-maintained apartment home, on the water with a boat dock.

Fishing with Captain Tad:
For the novice or experienced angler, whatever time
of year, Captain Tad will help you target what is biting. With his vast
knowledge and experience of the waters surrounding the middle Florida Keys
before long you could be hooked into a fish of a lifetime - a marlin,
sailfish, shark, tuna or wahoo in the Gulf Stream.
"I would like to extend an invitation for you to
spend a day with me on the water," says Captain Tad. He operates a 26-foot
Glacier Bay Catamaran powered by two Yamaha 4-stroke engines. Catamarans
are very stable fishing boats and ride through the water much smoother
than standard V-hull boats. You will find this gives you a much more
comfortable boating experience. Captain Tad furnishes all equipment and no
fishing license is required on the boat. Whether you choose to go fishing,
diving or lobstering, Captain Tad has over a decade of knowledge and
experience on the waters surrounding the middle Florida Keys.
Captain Tad says, "If you bring your own boat, I can show you a few tricks
about fishing in our area. We have great fishing and diving year round
here in Marathon. I love to fish the Bay wrecks, which produce lots of
action. Mangrove Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel, Sharks and Goliath Grouper
are abundant. Also I don't want to leave out Cobia, a great fish for the
table. If you love Sport Fishing, we catch Dolphin, Sailfish, Tuna and
Marlin in the Gulf Stream. For the Deep Dropper on the ocean wrecks, large
Grouper, Mutton Snapper and Yellowtail are for you. Let's not forget about
the abundant amount of lobster in the bay. Whatever time of year, I will
help you target what is biting. So let's get together for a fun fishing
day!"
