...... note to Anglers from Jim at Fish-uk:
I
have fished in County Cavan regularly. County Cavan offers waters to
suit all tastes. The angler seeking large bags of Bream and Roach can
choose from the wider stretches of the rivers or large lakes such as
Gowna, Oughter and Upper Lough Erne. Lake Garty in the centre of
Arvagh, hardly ever fished, is exceptional for roach. My first time in
Ireland, my brother and I fished lake Garty on our last day with 90lb
and 78lb nets. All lakes and rivers have good stocks of Bream, Roach,
Rudd, Perch and Pike.
There is also many opportunities for match anglers to take part in
angling festivals. One of Ireland's major international events is the
British King of Clubs which is held annually in County Cavan. Local
festivals are also held annually at Arvagh, Belturbet and Cootehill. |
