Plough Angling Society is a Coventry / Rugby based angling club that
has been active since 1888 and is the oldest known angling club in
the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Our home water is a variable and feature rich
stretch of 72 Pegs of the Warwickshire River Avon between the
Villages of Ryton on Dunsmore and Wolston on the outskirts of
Coventry. The river is home to some of anglers favourite species of
fish such as Chub, Roach and Dace.
The Club also controls a Pleasure Fishing Only, 2 mile
stretch of the Warwickshire
Avon at Hill Wootton, off the A46 (a key is Required )
Having such a diverse stretch of river we welcome pleasure anglers,
specimen anglers and match anglers. For the competitive angler Club
matches are held throughout the season with Summer, Winter and Away aggregates to
fish for (See information in your Membership Pack for Fixtures).
For match bookings and other match enquiries please
contact Ian Stringfellow, Joint Match Secretary.
