Fisheries and Fishing in England

Cambridgeshire has fishing all year round for all anglers, including carp fishing, coarse fishing, pike and zander fishing and fly fishing.

There are several lakes and day ticket waters and well know rivers such as the River Cam, The Nene and the Great Ouse. The River Cam is a tributary of the River Great Ouse and offers some fine mixed coarse fishing for roach, chub and perch. The River Nene is also a mixed coarse fishing water and is known amongst the predator anglers as a good pike and zander water. The Great Ouse is another river for the coarse angler with roach, bream, perch, pike and zander.

There are various lakes and fisheries which offer day and night fishing for the price of a day ticket and some of these waters hold some very big carp for the carp anglers and specimen hunters.

Lenton Lakes Fishery comprises two lakes and is 1/2 mile from Brampton, Huntingdon. The lakes are open 24/7 all year,  The largest carp caught this year is a 37 lb common carp, with a tench at 11 lb and a bream at slightly over 14 lb. The new owner has re-stocked the lakes this year, adding more fish - Carp to 26 lbs, Bream to 12 lb and Tench to 7 lb. along with a good mix of roach, rudd, and perch. Lenton One is a lake for both beginners and dedicated carpers, so whether you are a pleasure angler or a serious carp man ( or woman ) we feel confident you will enjoy your visit. For the specimen angler there are some some very, very large eels in the lakes. There is a clean toilet on site, ample parking adjacent to the lakes, and bait available.
