Tansterne Fishery is a complex
of ponds in the hamlet of Tansterne in East Yorkshire, situated approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north east of Sproatley and 1 mile (1.6 km) south west of Aldbrough.
The Fishery is a float only venue with a
total of 48 pegs with a number of pegs available for disabled anglers with the facility to park within 20 yards of the fishing pegs.
Onsite free car parking and two porta loos for your use. The fishery is open all year, and fishing is available from dawn until dusk.
Tansterne Fishing Ponds are also
available for match bookings and charity
events – with special rates for large
bookings. Ideal carp and coarse fishery.
Murphy's
and Woodside are mature ponds that have
been stocked since the late 90's early
2000 with easy access
for disabled anglers with the car park
only a couple of metres from the nearest
peg and both ponds have hard standing at
all pegs and the surrounding
walkways/paths. Woodside has 19
pegs and contains mirror up to mid 20lbs
however, some anglers have informed us
that they have caught carp in the early
30lbs. Murphy's pond contains 43
pegs with mirror and common carp to mid
20lbs. Other fish include Crucian carp,
Roach, Tench, Ide, Bream, Rudd, Perch and
Chub.
