The fishery is Located in the southwest of Brittany in a small village called Loscouetsur- Meu, this secluded venue is perfect to kick back and relax courtesy of the lakeside apartments with built in swims.
There are several options available for your trip, one being the very popular Organised Trips, where all you have to do is book your holiday and then we'll take it from there.
At the complex there's great facilities including clean showers, toilets and most importantly a fully stocked bar! Tackle and bait is provided on site, as well as a half board catering option.
The main lake has 55 swims on four banks with approximately 65 acres of water.
The lake has two main areas to fish, the west bank that is about 20 acres in size and the north/east bank. Fishing to the middle of the lake from this area gives about 45 acres.

The European Specimen Angling Centre or ESAC complex, is one of the best complex's and fishery's in Europe, not just because of the track record we have, but with over 50 tons plus of carp and cats in residence its an unbelievable place to fish and anglers dreams are definitely made here, which is why anglers come back year after
year to enjoy fishing that can not be had anywhere else.
Set in 200 acres of forest and farmland in the southwest of Brittany in a small village called Loscouetsur- Meu, the river Meu runs around and through the lake, "peace" , "tranquillity" and "seclusion" are some of the phrases that come from the anglers that visit us. This secluded venue is perfect to sit back and relax courtesy of the lakeside apartments with built in swims.
ESAC has three lakes in its complex: Le Lac Fishabil, Kingfisher Reserve and Lac Locarno. However Lac Locarno is not available for fishing as we are holding and breeding fish in it at present.
In the past we have held 6 major European matches, 2 European carp cup tournaments and 2 world carp cups. From these matches 8 World records broken, a feat equalled by no other fishery. Most of the top names in today's angling have used lac fishabil in articles or fished in the competition that has been held here so as you can see we have a lot to offer and loads of big
fish. Our facilities (like our lake) are second to none. With men's and ladies toilets and a fully marbled shower unit are fully equipped to cater for your stay. Once you have been here you will be enchanted by the serenity and beauty that the lakes can offer plus some of the best fishing you will ever experience.
To get here we are 1 hours drive from the port of St Malo, which is the closest port, or a 2 hour drive from Caen or Cherbourg, otherwise a 5 hour drive from Calais.
The Fishery has Big Mirror carp, Huge Grass carp, and Sturgeon to over 60lb Common Carp to 57lb & Big Cats to over 200lb making it one of the finest fisheries in the world. Carp 40lb-67lb, 200 recorded fish. 30lb-40lb, 500 recorded fish. 20lb-30lb, 1500 recorded fish.
Grass Carp 28lb-61lb, 100 recorded fish.
Ghost Carp We have 5 known ghost carp with the biggest of 44lb last captured 7 years ago.
Blue Carp Quantity unknown, however we have recorded one blue carp at the weight of 101lb.
Catfish Biggest Landed by carp gear, 156lb, 172lb, 182lb, 220lb. 70lb-100lb, 100 recorded fish. 20lb-70lb, 200 recorded fish.
Sturgeon We have 30 hard fighting sturgeon with the latest recorded largest fish topping the scales at just over 62lb. Over 10 of these fish have now reached over 40lb in just 4 years.

Zander to 28lb.
Roach to 4lb.

Perch to 4lb.
Tench to 14lb.
Kingfisher Reserve
Kingfisher reserve is set in quiet, peaceful oak and pine woodland totally secure with a fenced perimeter. It is available for hire in its entirety or on an individual basis.
Kingfisher has 5 swims at present, and can fish 5 anglers in comfort with 1 swim being a double swim able to fish 2 anglers in comfort, all the swims on the west side of the lake fishing to the far back and sides.
The fishing is all to features of over hanging trees lily pads with great margin fishing and is ideal for the angler who does not like to cast far.
The reserve is stocked with approximately 400 plus mirrors and 150 common carp and has some great sport to offer the angler that like smaller waters or just like to hear the buzzers screaming off, being used primarily as a stock lake for Lac Fishabil lake to increase the growth and size of some of our smaller fish.
The average size of these fish is between 10 to 25lbs, but with some fish in the low 30 to 40lbs. There are some catfish between 15 to 40lbs with pike, zander, tench, bream and roach all available to fish for.
Remote control boats are allowed on this lake as most of the fishing is to over hanging trees in the margins.
Rowing Boats
There are 8 boats available on the main lake, all are of top quality with oars, anchors and life belts. There are jetties and mooring points for the boats to make them easier to use.
The 4 banks on lac fishabil offer diverse types of fishing, from Lily pads/snags/ to long distance to margin fishing; there is something here for all anglers.
ORGANISED TRIPS
All organized trips are from Saturday to Sunday giving 7 full days fishing, all anglers can fish for carp and catfish as well as coarse fish their are many benefits to going on an organized trip, the beauty of our trips is that you can choose between having meals or not.
If you choose meals then you can leave the hassle to us and concentrate on fishing! If not we will take you down to the local supermarket every other day for your shopping. The atmosphere here is always friendly and relaxed apart
from when all the rods scream off at once and then it can be a little hectic!. If you want peace and solitude then we have ample room to give you just what you came for. Most the swims are double swims with ample space for fishing and socializing.
Your holiday begins as soon as you are collected from your chosen pickup point (See enclosed map for pickup points). We then resume our journey down to Portsmouth to meet the MV Bretagne for the evening crossing to St Malo.
The ferry used for the St Malo crossing is both spacious and luxurious. It boasts two cinemas, a full a la carte restaurant as well as a café area and a self service restaurant. There is also a bar with live entertainment, discothèque, and cabaret. For those of you who prefer to pass the trip in calmer surroundings there is a cocktail bar, Pullman seats with blankets are included for your travelling comfort.
Arrival at The European Specimen Angling Centre
We arrive in France at approximately 7.00 am the following morning (French time) and from arriving at St Malo the journey to Le Lac Fishabil will take about 1 hour.
Upon arrival at Fishabil we will see what for some will be the first view of Le Lac Fishabil. This will be from the excellent vantage point of the dam wall. Next will come a briefing in the ESAC Centre concerning the lakes recent captures and favoured fishing areas, although in reality all the areas fish well, there will then follow a brief chat about the lake and its rules over tea and coffee.
With the introductions and formalities out of the way and swims selected, the next step will be to deliver everyone to their chosen pegs and start fishing, expert help is on hand at all times on casting baiting and general fishing knowledge because we want you to have a great time catching fish and enjoying your fishing holiday.

ESAC fishery is only 30 minute drive from Dinard Airport so you can hire a car or come by taxi. Just bring you rig bag, reels & sleeping bag and we can supply the rest though our tackle hire.

Self drive is the most flexible way to get fishing. Whether you just want to go fishing with your buddies, cant make an organized trip, or just want to take the kitchen sink, this is the way to do it.
