Fishing at our houses
Our three houses are set in 30 acres nestling right on the shores of
Lough Derg. Our guests only have to walk to the end of the garden to
start their days fishing. We have a private pier and also have
supply bait fridges and tackle storage.
Fishing Available in the Area
The Lakes, rivers and streams in Clare are rich in salmon, brown
trout and a wide variety of coarse fish, including pike, bream,
tench and rudd, whilst the gentle waters of Galway Bay are a haven
for sea angling.
Dotted with almost 40 lakes, the lakelands of East Clare have
quality services and facilities for the angler whilst the unrivalled
asset of Lough Derg and the Shannon waterway provide both game and
coarse angling. Corofin is right at the heart of a lake-complex,
which forms part of the Fergus headwaters and also offers excellent
coarse and game fishing.
Fishing Lough Derg
Lough Derg is the largest lake on the river Shannon and is a natural
mixed fishery offering superb pike and coarse fishing. It also has
wild brown trout which are mostly fished during the mayfly season.
The lakes many islands and sheltered bays that offer interesting and
exciting places to fish. Bream, tench, rudd, roach and perch can be
fished from a lake boat.
The lake is rated a top water for record weight pike. The European
Pike Angling Challenge is an annual event and is normally held
during the third week of September.
Coarse Angling
At O'Brien's Bridge and on the Clare Lakes: Cullaun Lake,
Ballycullinan Lake and Atedaun Lake. On the East Clare Lakes; Lough
Graney, Clondorney Lake, Doon Lake, Lough Bridget, Cullaunaheeda,
Lough Avoher, Finlough and Clonlea On the River Shannon and Lough
Derg: Killaloe, Scariff and Mountshannon
Trout Angling
On Lough Inchiquin, near Corofin and on the West Clare Lakes of
Gortglass and Cloomsneachta
The following Rivers provide a challenge for game anglers in the
North Tipperary area:- River Suir at Tempemore, Loughmore, Thurles,
Holy Cross, Ballycamas; the Litter Brosna River at Roscrea; the
Nenagh River at Nenagh, Ballycommon, Dromineer; the Allatrim River
at Toomevara, Ballyfinboy, and the Ballinderry River. The Mulcair
River and several small tributaries throughout the county have
supplies of brown trout.

At Killaloe, Mountshannon and Scariff.
Angling Centres
Portumna, O'Brien's Bridge , Corofin, Ennis, Along the River Fergus
System, Kildysart, Tulla, Broadford, Feakle, Killaloe, Mountshannon
and Scarifff.
Sea Fishing
We can organise sea fishing day trips for any of our guests that are
interested in this.
Carrigaholt Sea Angling Centre, based in the fishing village of
Carrigaholt on the South side of the Loop Head peninsula, offers
fishing trips on the charter boat - The Clare Dragoon. Shannon
Estuary and Atlantic Charter are based in Kilrush marina for easy
access to all the best fishing spots in any kind of weather. There
are many species to fish for such as: Shark, Tope, Ray, Conger and
Skate.
Beach fishing is also available providing good shore angling for pollock, bass and mackerel. Doolin is good spot
for shore angling.
