What we offer
With over 7,000 km of rivers and diverse landscapes, this region
offer you the chance to catch a wide range of species, from powerful
20lb river carp and big barbel, to the mighty Ebro catfish in the
south of the region. Fly fishing enthusiasts have the chance to
catch natural wild brown trout and to follow in the footsteps of
Ernest Hemingway; an opportunity not to be missed. With such a wide
range of possibilities you can choose your holiday package based on
the species you want to target.
Your experienced guides will take you to the best areas to catch
truly wild, strong fighting fish in beautiful, isolated areas
undiscovered by the masses. The guides will also stay with you all
day to make sure you have everything you need, be it a fresh cup of
coffee or some tips, insuring that you can concentrate on what is
really important; relaxing and catching fish!
Location
Navarra is known as the land of diversity and this name is well
deserved as you will find a bit of everything that Spain has to
offer in just a short drive, from the cool green mountains of the
Pyrenees to the warm dry areas along the banks of the Ebro. This
diversity is also reflected in the surroundings where you will be
fishing, from impressive rock formations, home to vultures and other
birds of prey, to the green forests that offer fish shade during the
warm hours of the day.
Navarra Fishing Adventures is based in Pamplona, the capital of the
region of Navarra and home to the world famous San Fermin festival
and of course its bull runs. Surrounded by picturesque mountains,
this lively city is the perfect place to start your fishing holiday
with tapas (or pintxo, pronounced “pincho”, as they are known here)
and a beer or one of the regions local wines. Navarra also has a lot
to offer non-angling partners, from city sightseeing trips to hiking
in the mountains. Best of all, much of these activities are
underused and relatively unknown, which adds to the feeling of
isolation and discovery.

The Pyrenees
In the Pyrenees you will stay in typical mountain towns with their
own authentic style and Basque culture. Each town has of course
their own small local watering holes where the local population can
be found in the evening and where you can enjoy a typical Spanish
meal and a cold beer or glass of local wine.
The small towns are surrounded by a carpet of pine forests that are
home to a great variety of wildlife, such as the mountain cat, genet
cat, wild boar, dear, river otters, beavers and some of the last
remaining bears of the Pyrenees as well as a great variety of birds
including the rare bearded vulture.

Middle Navarra
The centre of Navarra is dominated by two rivers, the Arga and the
Aragón. These rivers, which flow down from the Pyrenees towards the
Ebro, are home to a great variety of fish species. Here you will
mainly be targeting carp and barbel.
As you fish in this area we will be staying in the medieval town of
Olite with its impressive castle from the 14th century. This nice
town offers you a great atmosphere to relax after a long day of
fishing and a good chance to recharge your batteries in one of the
many bustling small bars and restaurants which sparkle to life with
the smell of tapas, the sound of clinking glasses and the hubbub of
real Spanish living, a true insight into Spanish culture.

South Navarra, the Ebro
The southern border of Navarra is marked by the mighty Ebro. The
Ebro has gained fame in recent years as the prime spot for wels
catfish, with records being broken almost every year. Although the
stretch of the river that flows through Navarra still does not have
catfish of the same size as those found further south, the fish
caught here are quickly gaining in size and have reached up to over
2 metres.
While you are fishing in the Ebro you will be staying in Tudela.
This small city is famous for the influences of the Mores, who ruled
the area from the 9th until the beginning of the 12th century, and
whose impact can still be seen in the architecture of the old town.
This city has a lovely relaxed atmosphere during the evenings as the
locals go out to enjoy some tapas.
