With 170 acres of ancient woodland, wildflower pastures, natural
hedgerows and water meadows, to explore, Poachers Hideaway is the
perfect place to relax in 4 & 5 star holiday cottage accommodation.
On-site we have 3 lakes for fishing. 2 Coarse lakes with bream and
tench and a Carp lake with carp to 20lb. All lakes are for residents only. We are also pleased to be able to offer
accommodation grades at level 1 for Mobility under the National
Accessibility Scheme.
There are miles of interconnecting routes that meander round the
undulating hills and valleys of Flintwood Farm, but for those
seeking to explore further, the Viking Way joins the farm and opens
up many more beautiful areas of Lincolnshire. Others like to take in
the many antique shops in Horncastle (the antiques capital of
Lincolnshire). The coast is not too far away, with secluded beaches
such as Theddlethorpe and Huttoft and many of our guests like to go
seal watching at Donna Nook when they come for a winter holiday. If
you prefer something a little busier, then there are the more
traditional holiday resorts such as Skegness and Sutton on Sea, also
within easy reach. |

Fishing:
Whatever
your preference, we have a range of well stocked fishing lakes here
at Poachers Hideaway which are free for the exclusive use of our
guests.
Our lakes are easily accessible, although we do provide transport
for anyone who may experience difficulty in getting to them.
Fishing rods are available for hire if required.
We have 3 lakes where fishing is permitted. The main lake holds carp
which are up to 20lb in weight.
Our other 2 lakes contain coarse fish, mainly bream and tench
We also have a 'children’s pond' which is home to easy to catch fish
such as roach, rudd etc.
Please note:
We only allow 1 rod per person
The use of groundbait is not permitted
No keepnets
Barbless hooks only to be used
If you would like a change of venue there are
numerous day ticket waters around Horncastle for both coarse fishing
and trout fishing. For river fishing the river Witham and river Bain
are within 20 minutes drive. Bardney, Kirkstead and Tattershall are
noted fishing areas of the Witham for bream and roach. |
