Become a Reporter!
This is for independent reporters.
Would you like to become a Fish-uk reporter for your area - UK or Worldwide?

We are looking for area reporters. If you can write one or two of fishing reports per month for the site we will give you your own webspace with a link to it from the reports page i.e. 'Reports from Devon by Rob'. You do not have to have professional writing skills to be considered. All we ask is that you can write a 200 word (approximately) report about your own region every couple of weeks. Also maybe include a picture or two.

If you're wondering how much writing is involved for 200 words then look at the example below, it is roughly 230 words. If you go fishing regularly then this should be no problem.   Interested? Send email to jim@fish-uk.com for more information.

Don't want to become a full time Fish-uk reporter!  that's ok, you can still send us a report to let us know how you went on your last fishing trip or info about a fishery. Don't forget to send us a photo of your catches.

EXAMPLE
I decided to go fishing down to bottom lake. The water was very cold and clear. I chose to fish from peg 26, the nearest to the pub (a short walk for later!). Tom the bailiff came to have a yarn and told me this had been the best peg these last few weeks. Fishing a float close to the reeds on light tackle using caster or pinkie as bait, the catch was predominantly roach. Don't use groundbait he said, only a few offerings of hookbait. So, I set up my float rod with a waggler on 2lb mainline, 1lb hook length and size 20 Kamasan whisker barb hook. I plumbed the water and the depth was 4ft so I set the float to 4ft 6in deep. I fed in half a dozen casters and within 2 minutes I caught my first roach. Not a record breaker but a nice 6 ounce fish. I was casting to the left of me near to the reeds. After about 3 hours of fishing I had caught a couple of dozen or more fish for a total of maybe 7lb. Not a big weight for this pond but great for this time of year. The fish like Tom said, were mainly roach but there were a couple of good skimmers amongst them. The fish seemed to stop biting around this time so I decided to take that 'short walk'!
