Our accommodations consist of seven self catering holiday cottages in Devon with breathtaking views across the Culm Valley towards Dartmoor and the south coast. Secluded and full of character, they include a 16th Century Grade II Listed farmhouse, an eco lodge specially designed and built to offer excellent disabled access and beautiful barn conversions. Our newest conversion, The Carthouse, is pet free which is ideal for guests who are looking for a cottage where no pets have stayed.  Pets are welcome in all our other cottages

For a peaceful, comfortable and relaxing stay you will find our cottages are equipped with all you will need.

For anglers we have three lakes and a farmyard pond. Farmyard pond is set in idyllic garden surroundings and is closest to our cottages. From the garden, which opens onto our own private valley you will find our three other lakes.

Walkers and ornithologist will delight in our 60 acres of countryside to explore, with rare sedges, native orchids and other wetland plants. Walks include a circular footpath walk with an ancient green lane and a hilltop walk with panoramic views. Taking a stroll around our lakes you may see kingfishers diving for fish.

Wildlife is abundant and you may come across deer and many other small mammals or see the buzzards and other hawks or hear the singing of the skylarks from the skies.

The Farmhouse

   4 Bedrooms | Sleeps 7-9 + cot

The first bedroom is on the ground floor and has a double and single bed. Three further bedrooms can be found upstairs. One bedroom has a double bed and the other two bedrooms each have two single beds. Electricity is included in the tariff for the Farmhouse.

Lake View Cottage

     3 Bedrooms | Sleeps 7-9 + cot

Lake View Cottage is a cob and stone built cottage dating back to the 16th Century. Upstairs the three bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. One double bedroom, one with two singles and one family room with a double, a single and bunk beds.

The Farmhouse and Lake View Cottage are adjoining with a connecting door and may be combined to accommodate groups of between 14 and 18 people. Perfect for family celebrations, parties and larger groups. For that special occasion, local chef Scott Farr of scoffcatering, would be happy to help with any event whether a private party or family celebration dinner you are looking to arrange

Willow Tree Cottage

   3 Bedrooms | Sleeps 6 + cot

Willow Tree Cottage is a three bedroomed, specially designed and built eco lodge offering accommodation and facilities under the National Accessible Scheme for Mobility see   Willow Tree Access Statement
Each bedroom sleeps two people and one has an ensuite bathroom with level access shower. This cottage also has a private entrance and parking with level access to the cottage.

The Stable Lodges (2)

     1 Bedroom | Sleeps 2 + sofa bed + cot

Stable Lodges are two cottages that were converted from the attractive farm stable building and are on two levels.

The bedrooms are on the ground level with the living area upstairs to take advantage of the fabulous view down the valley. Stable Lodge One has a king size or two single beds. Stable Lodge Two has a double bed and both Lodges have sofa beds in the living room

The Hayloft

     1 Bedroom | Sleeps 2 + cot

The Hayloft is a delightful open plan studio with spacious living, dining and kitchen area. The bedroom has a double bed ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower.

The Carthouse

   5 Bedrooms | Sleeps 8-10 + cot

 Our newly converted barn, The Carthouse, sleeps 8 to 10 plus cot in 5 bedrooms. Fully equipped kitchen, open plan living and dining area with woodburner and south facing terrace with garden furniture.

The Carthouse offers exceptional accommodation with beds and pocket sprung mattresses from Hypnos Beds and luxury linen and towels.
Pet free, The Carthouse is ideal for guests looking for a cottage where no pets have stayed.

Fishing at West Pitt Farm

FREE FISHING ! Guests staying in our holiday cottages fish at all our lakes at no additional charge

Anglers looking for fishing holidays in Devon need look no further. Here at West Pitt Farm Fishery we have four well stocked, spring fed fishing lakes containing a wide variety of quality coarse fish including carp, tench, roach, rudd, bream, chub, perch and golden orfe.

Guests staying in our holiday cottages can fish all our lakes for free and have exclusive use of Farmyard Pond.  Our fishery is open from dawn until dusk and day ticket fishing is available for visitors.

West Pitt Farm Fishery has excellent coarse fishing for everyone.  Match anglers, pleasure anglers and beginners are all welcome and for guests who have not fished before, but would like to try, we can arrange a fishing lesson and the loan of equipment.

The Farmyard Pond

Kingfisher Lake

Farmyard pond is half an acre in size with an average depth of two feet and holds large numbers of Carp to 15lbs as well as Roach to over a pound and Rudd to 12oz.

Kingfisher lake is around an acre in size and contains Carp in the high teens, Golden Tench to 5lbs, Roach to 1lb 8oz, Bream to 8lbs and Golden Orfe and Koi.

Mallard Lake

Willow Lake

At about one and quarter acres in size, Mallard Lake is the largest of our lakes. Carp are the main species and run to 22lbs, with large numbers in the 3lb to 10lb bracket and catches of 120lbs and more are not uncommon. Other species include Tench to 5lbs, Roach to 1lb 8oz and numerous Rudd.

At half an acre in size Willow Lake is similar in size to Farmyard pond and also holds Carp to 15lbs. Other fish include Tench to 7lbs, Chub to 3lbs, Perch to 2lbs, Crucian Carp and plenty of smaller Rudd and Perch to keep the novice angler happy.

In May 2011 Paul Warren from Wellington, fishing Mallard Lake caught: Sunday - 125lbs and Monday - 103lbs fish.

 How to find us...
We are a "long" Devon mile from junction 27 of the M5!

Leave the M5 at junction 27 and head for Tiverton on the A361. Almost immediately exit by the slip road towards Sampford Peverell. At the roundabout, turn right which crosses over the dual carriageway. At the next roundabout, straight over towards Holcombe Rogus. After half a mile turn left to Whitnage and after a further half a mile turn right at Stonesland Cross. Half a mile more, turn left at Pitt Crossroads. West Pitt Farm is 200 yards on the left.
