The river Witham, Welland and river Nene are home to some big shoals of bream and roach and these waters are well liked by the predator angler for the big pike they hold.
Other major rivers, the Great Ouse and Stour offers fishing for many species of coarse fish.
The river Frome in Dorset is the water where the current record Grayling was caught (although these records have not been updated for some years now)
