 Game fishing on the rivers and loughs in and around
Fermanagh is well known for its salmon fishing and
trout fishing. There are numerous places for fly
fishing around Fermanagh for beginners and experts

direction. Game fishing is available on the
Blackwater and its tributaries and many Loughs all
year round with the averages size of fish - Salmon
between 6lb to 10lb, grilse to 6lb and Trout to 4lb.
Other fish such as the Dollaghan is unique to Lough
Neagh and grows to double figures. The Gillaroo,
Sonaghan and Ferrox are found in Lough Melvin.
Rainbow trout fishing is also available in some
Fermanagh stocked waters and these can be fished for
on a bag limit or catch and release.

vast choice of waters to choose from and some of the
finest coarse fishing available in Europe. The rivers
and many loughs are abundant with big shoals of
bream, and roach along with hybrids, tench, perch and

almost all waters with bream growing to 10lb+ and
bags of 100lb a regular occurrence. Pike to specimen
size (40lb) can be caught throughout the Erne system.
