Fishing Holidays in Scotland

Caithness is the most northerly county in the UK, located in the north east of Scotland. There are many fishing opportunities for fly fishing and sea fishing in this part of Scotland and some lochs hold good pike and perch for the coarse angler.

For anglers fly fishing there are over 100 fishing lochs, many of which are remote and have maybe never been fished, that are home to the hard fighting wild brown trout, sea trout and salmon. The many rivers in Caithness are capable of providing superb salmon and grilse fishing. Nothing beats local knowledge, so if your contemplating a day casting your dry fly or nymph in the hope of catching a fine Scottish salmon, ask your host or in the local tackle shops where is best to go.

For sea anglers there is rock fishing, beach fishing and boat fishing trips. There is a vast choice of species to be caught including whiting, codling, mackerel, haddock, herring, plaice, dabs, gurnard, ballan wrasse and cuckoo wrasse, ling, pollock, spurdog, skate, thornbacks, tope, smoothound and halibut.
