Angus is situated on the east coast of Scotland and offers a choice of fishing holidays for anglers with salmon fishing in the rivers, trout fishing in the lochs or sea fishing for bass, cod, pollack, flatfish etc

Two rivers well known for fantastic salmon fishing are the rivers North Esk and South Esk. These rivers flow through county Angus and enter the sea north of Montrose. Both have good salmon runs throughout the spring, summer and autumn The North Esk is said to be one of the most prolific northern salmon fisheries in Scotland. The South Esk is a top water during the summer for sea trout fishing.

Loch fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout, blue trout and char can be found in Angus.
For some good trout fishing in the east of Scotland, fly fishing for brown trout is available in Forfar Loch, Forfar. In the Dundee area, Monikie Country Park has fishing available for brown and rainbow trout and Crombie Country Park has fishing for brown trout.

Sea Fishing
Sea fishing anglers on holiday in Angus will find some excellent sandy beaches and shores to fish from.
During the spring and summer months you can expect to catch flatfish, flounder, plaice and dab along with wrasse. Autumn and winter months are noted as a good time for fishing for cod, pollack, coalfish, flounder and school bass.
